JAY-Z Talks Squashing Old Beefs In Part Two of His TIDAL Interview
Also explaining his mom’s disapproval of the song “Smile.”
The second of TIDAL’s two-part Rap Radar Podcast interview with JAY-Z is officially live. This following first episode that aired earlier this week that found Hov addressing the infamous elevator fight with Solange back in 2014 and some details behind his shaky relationship with Kanye West.
This latest hour-long episode finds the music mogul opening up more about his twins, squashing old beefs and working on “Smile” with his mother Gloria Carter who Jay reveals did not approve the song at first:
“We just had a beautiful conversation and it led to me making the song, and I didn’t have permission to make the song. And when she first heard the song, she was like, ‘absolutely not,’ and I was like, ‘man, this is so important. So many people in the world hiding,’” JAY-Z stated, before declaring it was one of his ‘proudest songs.’”
