For the last couple of years, rumors and speculations of a Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole collaborative album looked to be actually happening. And back in December of last year, Ab-Soul laid to rest all the rumors regarding the long-awaited album during an interview with The Breakfast Club. When asked about it, Ab-Soul responded with “There is a Kendrick/Cole album. They got it. They got something in the works. They been working on that motherfucker for awhile.”

However, it was only a few hours ago Top Dawg Entertainment co-president Terrence “Punch” Henderson just about confirmed the album is never coming out. During a lengthy Twitter Q&A session, a fan asked him, “When Cole and Kdot dropping that joint project?” In just two words Punch delivered the crushing blow, “Probably Never.”

Currently both K.Dot and Cole are on tour to support their DAMN. and For Your Eyez Only projects, respectively. The two dropped 2015’s “Black Friday” mix where Cole hopped on “Alright,” and Kendrick jumped on Cole’s ”A Tale of Two Citiez.”

UPDATE: A few hours later Punch hopped back on Twitter stating “I was just playing about that dot and cole joint. It’s coming for sure maybe. I don’t know it might happen. Probably. Actually hit them.”
