Beyoncé Shares Nostalgic Throwback Video in Honor of Aaliyah

On Thursday evening, Beyoncé took to Instagram to pay tribute to Aaliyah on the 15th anniversary of her tragic sudden death in a plane crash back in 2001. Bey posted footage of an interview between the two starlets on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet from way back in 2000. Back then, Beyoncé was still riding high with Destiny’s Child, and she was enlisted by MTV to interview celebrities as they arrived. ”What’s up, this is Beyoncé on the red carpet with one of the hottest female artists out there,” she declares, before the two fawn over D’Angelo. “I want to see D’Angelo perform,” Aaliyah reveals, and 18-year-old Bey agrees. “Girl, I’m with you, ‘cuz you know he fine!” See Beyoncé’s nostalgic post below.
