Levi’s Made & Crafted joins forces with Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi to rework vintage pieces from the denim stalwart for the upcoming fall/winter season. The United Arrows & Sons creative director has long drawn inspiration from fusing streetwear staples with American workwear, coupled with an interest in James Dean’s classic style. ”I grew up with street culture, and in the 1990s there were many great fashion magazines in Japan that I learned from. So, I’m trying to mix workwear and traditional details with a street attitude, as well as a vintage look,” quoted Poggy.
Combing through the archives at Levi’s HQ in San Francisco, Poggy found WWII-era clothing that fueled ideas for this collaboration and began crafting the pieces in Japan. A key piece in the capsule includes a modern take on the “Steve McQueen” denim pant, revamped with a tapered fit and bowtie detail on the pockets. The collection also contains updated button-ups, fitted overalls, a yellow sack coat and caps — all finished with Poggy and Levi’s branding on a leather tag. See the full lineup above and expect this collection to drop soon.
Levi’s also recently collaborated with the venerable Jordan Brand on an Air Jordan 4 pack.
