New Live-Action 'Bleach' Preview Shows Ichigo Getting His Powers
Kicking off the “Substitute Shinigami Arc.”
Ahead of the official release of Bleach’s live-action film, we recently received a new preview revealing protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki getting his powers.
A tie-in for the plot of the adaptation of Tite Kubo’s Bleach manga, the two-minute clip reveals the chance encounter between Ichigo and Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki that kicks off the series’ “Substitute Shinigami Arc.” In the clip above, Rukia is seen hesitating to drive her blade into the chest of the teenager, which would transform him into a Soul Reaper, despite an impending Hollow threat. Bringing the serialized Shonen Jump manga to life, director Shinsuke Satō followed the source material for the character designs of Byakuya Kuchiki, Kisuke Urahara, Orihime Inoue, Yasutora “Chad” Sado, and Ichigo’s parents Masaki Kurosaki and Isshin Kurosaki.
Check out the latest preview above and look for the Bleach live-action film to release stateside July 28 at select theatres.
