Gold Panda Drops Surprise Brexit-Inspired EP, 'Kingdom'
Just a couple of months after his third album, ‘Good Luck And Do Your Best.’
Gold Panda has shared a surprise five-track EP called Kingdom. The esteemed UK producer was inspired to record and release the collection of brand new material by the recent EU referendum, citing a particular story that happened to his Afghan neighbour. Panda explains:
“It was made after talking to a neighbour who moved his family from Afghanistan to the UK. He ordered a phone off Amazon so he could call home, but the delivery driver signed for it and kept it. I thought this was a pretty sh*tty welcome. I made a couple of less happy songs that are very very loosely based around that and my Brexit fears, which were sadly confirmed.”
Kingdom arrives only a couple of months after the release of Gold Panda’s third full-length LP, Good Luck And Do Your Best. Stream and download the EP below via Bandcamp.
