It wasn’t too surprising when news broke of Christophe Lemaire joining Uniqlo full-time, considering the two had put out successful collaborations in the years before. Now as the full-time Artistic Director of the retail giant’s “Uniqlo U” line, the ex-Hérmes designer has had the opportunity to bring his vision to life in the collection’s hotly anticipated inaugural range. Judging by the first looks, Uniqlo has fully embraced Lemaire’s penchant for pared-back simplicity, offering up a mix of clean-cut sportswear styles and functional attires for a cozy and versatile range ideal for the fall/winter season. Preview the collection above and stay tuned for more information and imagery of the “Uniqlo U” line later on in the year.
