Mark Gonzales & Tyshawn Jones Take New York in adidas Skateboarding's '20|50'
The Gonz still has it.
Centering around the legendary Mark Gonzales, adidas skateboarding has premiered its latest edit. 20/50, directed by veteran skateboarding filmmaker Aaron Meza, showcases Gonzales at his best, showcased alongside the adidas team’s youngest member, Tyshawn Jones. With each skater turning 50- and 20-years old, respectively, the video is almost a passing of the torch, from icon to fresh blood. Things start with The Gonz getting a lightning bolt-style haircut and get wilder from there; Jones ollies over a bike-ridden Gonzales, soars over a traffic barrier and flawlessly executes a precarious grind on an open sidewalk cellar door. Meanwhile, Gonzales showcases his boundless energy & creativity, completing a line on a Batman-like deck and bounding back onto his board after shooting it beneath a railing.
