Yasiin Bey’s legal troubles — he was arrested in South Africa and accused of using a false passport back in January — may be keeping him sidelined, but, thankfully, it hasn’t stopped the flow of new material from the man formerly known as Mos Def. Bey followed up “No More Parties in SA” — which dropped via Kanye West’s website and coincided with a retirement announcement and the promise of one final album — with “Dec 99th – N.A.W.” in May and now returns with yet another new cut. Dubbed “Dec 99th – Local Time,” the release — like “N.A.W.” — debuted via A Country Called Earth’s SoundCloud page and sees Bey dropping bars over a beat from compadre Ferrari Sheppard.

Give the Unknown Union creative director‘s latest recording a spin above and stay tuned for more from Bey — here’s to hoping his promised 2016 LP ends up seeing the light of day.
