Kanye West's 'ye' Becomes His Eighth Consecutive Number 1 Album
Tying with Eminem and The Beatles for most consecutive number one albums.

Despite the controversy in the build-up to the album, Kanye West‘s ye has had a successful release. After racking up more than 100 million streams inside three days, the album has now topped the Billboard 200, making it Kanye’s eighth successive album to reach the number one slot. The news won’t come as a shock, with early figures indicating that ye was on track to dominate the charts.
ye‘s first week saw 208,000 equivalent album units up to June 7, with 85,000 of those being traditional album sales. These figures make it the fifth-largest week for an album in 2018. The number one also means that Kanye is now tied with Eminem and The Beatles for the most consecutive number one albums. The figures released by Billboard also reveal that ye received 180.1 million streams in its first week, making it the seventh-biggest streaming week for an album ever.
