According to producer Charlie Handsome, Frank Ocean was supposed to be on Young Thug‘s latest album, Beautiful Thugger Girls. In an interview with DJ Booth, Handsome — who is also the co-producer on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo cut “Fade” — said that he thought that Frank was going to be on “Me or Us,” a collaboration with Post Malone and Rex Kudo. In the conversation, he shares the story behind his five biggest songs: Travis Scott’s “Drugs You Should Try It,” Lil Dicky’s “Pillow Talking,” Kanye West’s “Fade” featuring Post Malone and Ty Dolla $ign, Post Malone’s “Go Flex” and of course, Young Thug’s “Me or Us”

“Me or Us” originally started out as a track intended for ‘Ye, Charlie reveals, but after realizing that the Chicago rap mogul was probably not going to use it, he decided to give it to Thugger instead. Handsome wasn’t able to get Ocean on it because he did not “know if his schedule didn’t work out.” However, Handsome reveals in the interview that Thugger is trying to get Travis Scott on it for a “Me or Us 2.0.” Listen to the track below and check out the full interview via DJ Booth, where Handsome breaks down five of his biggest tracks.
