John Mayer Debuts 'Tim & Eric'-Like "New Light" Music Video
Complete with green-screened zebras and pyramids.
“I’m John Mayer, and I’m ready to be a star!” So begins the playful visual for John Mayer‘s “New Light.” Soundtracked by Mayer’s latest single, the tongue-in-cheek clip features Mayer dancing, spinning and flying in front a green screen, with footage of zebras, fireworks and sunsets playing behind the singer. Mayer even takes his on-screen beau for a ride in a clip-art SAAB, with the roof Photoshopped off. According to Mayer, “nobody could agree on a budget [for the video], so I went to a place downtown and made this with a company that usually does birthday and Bar Mitzvah videos.”
