According to the latest installment of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry’s annual Global Music Report, Drake‘s “One Dance” was the biggest single of 2016. Originally released as the lead single in support of Drake’s 2016 album VIEWS, “One Dance” has taken on a life of its own, becoming the first track to hit one billion streams on Spotify and becoming the streaming giant’s most popular standalone record. VIEWS also received more notable recognition from the IFPI, having landed on the no. 3 spot on the “Global Top Albums of 2016” chart.
