Having already hit theaters overseas, the crude superhero film Deadpool 2 is set to make its stateside debut today.
The highly-anticipated sequel sees Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds returning as the pivotal role of the Merc with a Mouth. Though superficially, the film is an comedic superhero film, on a more deeper level, it can actually be seen as a rom-com for males. Thanks to the creatives over at ScreenPrism, a new video analysis coming in at 11 minutes, breaks down the themes and motifs found throughout the film that actually favors Deadpool as such. Deadpool 2 which also stars Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, T.J. Miller as Weasel, and Karan Soni as Dopinder hits cinemas on Friday, May 18.
