UPDATE: Chad Hugo is not retiring from music. A rep for Chad tells Pitchfork that his tweet was a “bad joke.”

Chad Hugo took to Twitter to Sunday afternoon and announced his retirement from the music business. The Virginia native shared in a now-deleted tweet: “I resign from the music business. Thanks again, people, for your support throughout all these years. Good luck/God bless!” The multi-instrumentalist and record producer is known as 1/2 of The Neptunes with Pharrell Williams and a member of N.E.R.D. Check out his tweet below.
