Christian Luiten and Curtis Penning of rising contemporary art platform, Avante Arte, recently joined forces with curator Caio Twombly on a new pop-up exhibition entitled “Mutants.” Caio is the son of acclaimed sculptor Alessandro Twombly and grandson of legendary Abstract Expressionist, Cy Twombly. The upcoming showcase will take place in a former car showroom in New York City, displaying the works of emerging talents including Lily Gavin, Kai & Adrian Schachter, Robert Nava, Caroline Wells Chandler, and Kari Cholnoky. As a whole, the event marks Avant Arte’s second physical exhibition.

“We are excited to combine our ‘outsider’ take on contemporary art with Ciao Twombly’s ‘insider’ knowledge in our first US initiative,” said Luiten and Penning. “Instagram is an astonishing visual medium, but we are aware it cannot replicate the physical experience of seeing art in real life. This is an incredible opportunity to work with Ciao Twombly to showcase some of the most dynamic young artists working today.”

“Mutants” will be open to the public from May 10-20. Find the address below and head over to Avante Arte’s official website to learn more.
