Apple Might Kill Off iTunes Music Downloads Entirely
Not a matter of if, but when.
The music business is an ever-evolving industry, and it’s recently reported that Apple is considering killing off iTunes music downloads entirely, in favor of their streaming platform Apple Music. There are currently two possible timetables for this: the first one would end song sales within two years and the other would wait it out a little longer, riding out sales for the next three to four years. Paul Resnikoff for Digital Music News reports that it’s more a question of when and not if Apple will get rid of iTunes. Although he cites his sources with active business relationships with Apple, the California mega-company told Recode that the report was “not true,” but does not provide elaboration.
