adidas Gets World Cup-Ready With New Energy Mode X18+ Silhouette
Making its debut on Mo Salah in the Champions League final.

The beginning of the 2018 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner, and adidas Football has unveiled the boots that some of its key players will be wearing for the tournament. The Energy Mode X18+ takes influence from previous adidas cleats, and is designed to maximize speed and acceleration for attacking players.
The player’s who will be wearing the boot reflects this, with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah set to give the silhouette its debut during the upcoming Champions League final. After that, players including Spain’s Diego Costa, Barcelona and Uruguay forward Luis Suarez and Korea’s Heung Min Son will step out in the Energy Mode X18+ during the World Cup.
As well as the eye-catching blue and yellow colorway, key features of the new Energy Mode X18+ include a low-cut collar constructed from a stretch material, an updated outsole and a moulded heel for stability. The boot also incorporates innovative materials such as a “Skeletal Weave” — which allows for a more responsive touch — and the ultra-soft “Speed Mesh” construction. As well as coming as an on-pitch boot, the silhouette is also set to drop as a cage and street shoe. The pack is set to release in the coming weeks via the adidas web store.
