Weezer's Rivers Cuomo Might be the Only Featured Artist on Vic Mensa's Debut Album 'Traffic'
Vic: “My gift is that nobody can make a song that sounds like my song.”

Vic Mensa‘s highly-anticipated new studio album will feature a contribution from an unlikely artist. In a new interview with Clash, the Chicago rapper revealed one of the tracks included on his long-awaited debut LP will feature vocals from Weezer icon Rivers Cuomo. A song on Vic Mensa’s LP initially featured just a sample from the Pinkerton cut”The Good Life,” but Cuomo had other plans upon hearing the record. After hanging out with Vic during a studio session, Cuomo decided to jump in the booth and serve up some new vocals for the song. As Clash‘s Grant Brydon writes, the track in question is a record that Cuomo “loved so much” he had to inject some new vocals on the number’s conclusion. Besides this bit of information, Mensa also goes in-depth about the narratives and personal stories explored on Traffic, as well as its list of collaborators.
