New 'Venom' Trailer Actually Has Venom in It
Finally.
After receiving a peek of Tom Hardy as Venom in a leaked clip, Sony has just released the full trailer for Ruben Fleischer’s highly-anticipated Venom.
In the new trailer released at CinemaCon earlier tonight, we finally get to see Tom Hardy as the villainous character, something that was disappointingly left out of the teaser released back in February. Here we get a close look at reporter Eddie Brock and his transformation into the fearsome black and white Venom, and a lot of it. The just over two-and-a-half-minute clip also features a ton of action-packed scenes.
Venom will draw from two main comic arcs, Lethal Protector — which saw Venom moving to San Francisco where he tackles five new offspring of the Venom Symbiote — and Planet of the Symbiotes, where Earth is invaded by an army of symbiotes. Along with Tom Hardy, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott, and Jenny Slate and opens in theaters on October 5. A new poster was also released, which can be seen below.
