James Jean Celebrates New "Azimuth" Exhibit with Limited Edition Print & Pins
Channeling motifs from his upcoming Kaikai Kiki Gallery show.

James Jean is set to drop a limited edition print alongside intricate pins that pay homage to his upcoming solo exhibition at Kaikai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo, Japan. Dubbed “Azimuth,” the presentation will spotlight Jean’s never-before-seen stained glass works and paintings.
The Schrödinger’s Kitten Rescue print measures 25-3/4 inches tall and 20-1/2 inches wide, portraying surreal visuals that reference space and time. Moreover, the Azimuth Sun pin is part of an ongoing series of pins that features the sun in the shape of a compass. The Azimuth Calla pin references ” anthropomorphized floral elements from early American animation as well as the work of Italian cartoonist Antonio Rubino,” said the artist in a statement. Both pins are mounted to embossed backing cards and arrive with deluxe brass clutches.
The print will drop as a signed and numbered edition of 350 pieces that are priced at approximately $300 USD each. The pins are limited to 500 pieces with pricing details to be determined. All items will release on April 6 at 8 a.m. PDT on James Jean’s official website. Check out the pieces above and expect the “Azimuth” exhibit to launch this April 6.
