Eytys Channels Artist Henri Rousseau for Summer Cruise 2018 Capsule
Celebrating 5 years of the Mother silhouette.
Swedish footwear-and-denim label Eytys has launched a new capsule collection to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Mother, the brand’s first ever silhouette. The main inspiration for the Summer Cruise 2018 collection comes from French post-impressionist artist Henri Rousseau, with prints and colors from his work influencing the six sneakers in the pack.
The Rousseau influence is apparent in the all-over print taken from his 1891 painting A Tiger in a Tropical Storm (Surprised!), which is used on both the Classic Mother and the slip-on Viper silhouettes. Elsewhere, colors taken from Rousseau’s work is used as the basis point for pastel colorways of the Mother. This includes “Dusty Pink” inspired by his flamingoes, a light yellow based around his depiction of water lilies and a light blue inspired by the sky in his work. The full capsule is available now from the Eytys web store.
