American artists Cali Thornhill DeWitt and New York Sunshine‘s John Margaritis have teamed up for a joint exhibition at STEMS Gallery in Brussels. The exhibit mixes DeWitt’s “Going to California” works with pieces from the “Caution” exhibition by New York Sunshine.

Announcing the exhibition, DeWitt said that “Going to California” was about how he viewed his hometown of L.A. as “the most haunted city in the world. Haunted by unsatisfied desire.” This influence is apparent in mixed-media works about fame and the “death of Hollywood.” The works from Margaritis include a series of images of burning basketball hoops and the “HANDLE WITH CARE” series of states in steel and blown glass. Take a look around the exhibition above. “Going to California and Caution” is open now and runs until June 2.

In other art news, Ai Weiwei discussed his new book in a recent interview.
