Kate Moss Stars in Massive Attack's "Ritual Spirit" Music Video
Moss follows Rosamund Pike’s turn in “Voodoo in My Blood.”
Though it consists of just four tracks and is only about 17 minutes long, Massive Attack’s Ritual Spirit EP is one of the best releases of the year so far thanks to 3D’s production, the return of Tricky, and assists from the likes of Young Fathers and Roots Manuva. Now, after dropping the creepy Ringan Ledwidge-directed visuals for “Voodoo in My Blood” (starring none other than Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike), the iconic trip-hop outfit is back with a piece for the EP’s Azekel-featured title track. Directed by 3D himself, the minimalist piece stars none other than Kate Moss. Said 3D in a press release:
Me and Kate have been friends for years, but had never collaborated, so last year we booked a studio with Medium and set up a shoot. During the session Kate was dancing in the dark, lighting herself with a naked bulb. She perfectly captured the essence of this track… intimate and ritualistic. We edited it back in Bristol to keep it raw with no re-touching, I didn’t want to lose the spirit of that moment.
Check it out above and be on the lookout for Massive Attack’s Daddy G-produced EP to drop later this spring. Ritual Spirit is available now on iTunes and can be streamed on Spotify.
