There’s producer, remixer, then those grey area composers which fall under the ambiguous, but nonetheless marvelous category of mash-up. One that sits in the forefront of the melange of genres is Ryan Driscoll, aka Chip Ivory who’ve been pumping out some decent reworks in recent times. Having helmed together the rather unlikely duo Ellie Goulding and Kanye West in “Get Em High For This,” the North Carolina artist again step up with another creative endeavor, mixing hip-hop icon Biggie Smalls’ “Dead Wrong” with new up-and-comer Macklemore & Ryan Lewis‘ “Gold.” As it seems, when this unlikely pairing joins forces, a laid-back blissful rendition is formed. Now fans of the old school and new school can sing along in glorious harmony.
