A$AP Ferg Recounts His Origins and Inspirations in New Documentary
The Harlem creative talks art, design, family and Harlem.
Harlem’s own A$AP Ferg is the latest subject of Vice’s Autobiographies series. In his episode, Fergenstein dishes on how he started off hustling by selling custom-made T-shirts as a youth, how rap battles on the block taught him and his crew to stay hungry, and the role his father played in his shaping his artistic vision. The A$AP Mob admiral also professes his admiration for the aesthetics of artists like Mark Rothko and Salvador Dali in shaping his creative vision and ambition and how he considered rap a corny albeit lucrative hustle, at first.
