Apple Introduces New iPhone SE & 9.7-Inch iPad Pro
Apple’s back at it again.

Apple is indeed dropping a smaller iPhone, taking to its event in Cupertino today to unveil the brand new iPhone SE. Thankfully, the 5s-inspired design doesn’t skimp on the details. Offering fans a smaller, 4-inch alternative to the bigger 6s and 6s Plus, the SE is just as powerful as its predecessors — thanks to an A9 chip and M9 motion processor — and even boasts a 12MP iSight camera (with Focus Pixels and True Tone flash), Retina flash for its forward-facing camera, 4K video capabilities, high speed 802.11ac Wi-Fi (as well as Wi-Fi calling), 50% faster LTE, Apple Pay, and Touch ID. Apple’s 9.7-inch iPads are by far its most popular, accounting for over 200 million of those sold worldwide. So it makes sense that the Cupertino tech giant would go in that direction with its latest tablet: a smaller 9.7-inch take on the iPad Pro. Unveiled today alongside the iPhone SE, the new iPad — like the original — features both Pencil and Smart Keyboard support and comes with a True Tone display (which is Apple’s least reflective to date and measures ambient color temperature before adjusting the screen to match), 12MP iSight camera with 4K recording capabilities and a 5MP FaceTime camera with Retina flash. Like the Pro before it, the new iPad also features Apple’s A9X chip and M9 processor.
The iPhone SE is $399 USD for 16GB or $499 USD for 64GB and launches March 31.
Silver, gold, Space Gray and Rose Gold colorways of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro launch March 31 in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities for $599, $749 and $899 USD, respectively. And if you still prefer the size of the original iPad Pro, fear not: Apple will be launching a 256GB version of its 12.9-inch tablet that same day for $1,099 USD.
