'Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story' Docu-Series Gets a Teaser Trailer
Executive produced by JAY-Z and Martin’s parents.
JAY-Z, alongside Paramount Network (previously the Weinstein Company), has released a teaser for an unscripted six-part docu-series about the life and death of Trayvon Martin. The project is based on Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story written by Martin’s parents that tells the emotional story of their son who died at the hands of neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman. The story also importantly highlights the Black Lives Matter movement that began as a result.
JAY-Z will executive producer the series alongside Martin’s parents, as well as Julia Willoughby Nason and Jenner Furst among others. Nason and Furst will also co-direct the docu-series which is slated to release in July on the Paramount Network. Check out the footage above and share your thoughts below.
