Yasiin Bey Enlists Two Huge Legends to Help Launch His Final Tour
Watch the first of his farewell shows in its entirety.
Since his official retirement announcement back in October, Yasiin Bey has been hard at work ensuring his career concludes in the right way. He released his final studio album Dec. 99th earlier this week, and has a brief farewell tour planned for the coming weeks. Last night, Bey took to the stage of New York City’s legendary Apollo Theater to begin his retirement run, choosing to use the day of his last LP’s release to begin his final tour. For the first of two shows planned for the venue, the rapper formerly known as Mos Def performed for nearly an hour and enlisted a pair of hip-hop legends to help him put on one of his very last performances. Joining Yasiin as his event’s special guests, Pharoahe Monch and Slick Rick paid their respects and delivered one last salute to the acclaimed emcee.
