Owner of Wu-Tang Clan's 'Once Upon a Time in Shaolin' Revealed
And it’s not a very popular person.

Infamous pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli has been revealed as the mystery buyer of Wu-Tang Clan‘s multi-million dollar Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album. Martin Shkreli gained notoriety earlier this year when he increased the price of AIDS and cancer treatment drug Daraprim from $13.50 to $750. The price he paid for Once Upon a Time in Shaolin: $2 million. In a statement, RZA tells Bloomberg Businessweek:
“The sale of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin was agreed upon in May, well before Martin Skhreli’s [sic] business practices came to light. We decided to give a significant portion of the proceeds to charity.”
Shkreli had the following to say regarding the album:
“I could be convinced to listen to it earlier if Taylor Swift wants to hear it or something like that. But for now, I think I’m going to kind of save it for a rainy day.”
