Major Lazer and Bad Royale look to a classic record from ska-reggae hybrid act Toots and the Maytals for inspiration on their new joint record “My Number.” For their new collaboration, the pairing of Major Lazer and Bad Royale let a sample of Toots and the Maytals’ “54-46 That’s My Number” lead the way. Major Lazer has earned a great deal of success and acclaim in recent years for the music the act created alongside other artists, and this new song with Bad Royale has a good shot at becoming yet another hit in the group’s long line of chart-toppers.
