Kendrick Lamar Named College Football Playoffs' Halftime Performer
The first time ever halftime show at the event.

It’s been a big week for Kendrick Lamar, with the rapper giving a first look at his upcoming Nike Cortez “Kenny” and now being unveiled as the halftime performer at next month’s College Football Playoff national championship game. Kendrick will be the first ever halftime performer at the event, although the performance will be in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park — just outside the stadium — and will be free and non-ticketed.
For the set Kendrick is set to perform a medley of tracks including singles from DAMN. and his earlier albums. Speaking about being the first ever halftime headliner, King Kendrick added that “having the opportunity to perform at halftime of what will surely be the best game of the year between two deserving universities is truly an honor.”
The College Football Playoffs will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on January 8, with Kendrick’s set — and the game — also shown on ESPN. In other football news, it seems that Diddy is serious about buying the Carolina Panthers.
