Advent Calendar Day 25: Junya Watanabe x The North Face Backpack Jacket

Perhaps the duo’s best collaboration to date.

Rei Kawakubo protégé Junya Watanabe has collaborated with The North Face dozens of times over the past decade. For Spring/Summer 2018, however, the Japanese wunderkind outdid himself; Watanabe fused one of the outdoor brand’s backpacks to a mountain parka, creating a multifunctional jacket as eye-catching as it was useful. Fall/Winter 2018 saw the designer refining this covetable outerwear into a striking black, grey and silver iteration, both touching on the contemporary metallics trend and timeless versatility. The built-in backpack allows for a great deal of extra storage, while pull tabs at the side allow for an adjustable fit.

The jacket is size L.
