adidas Pays Homage to NY and L.A. With Speedfactory AM4 Drops
Working alongside local creatives in each city.
adidas created the Speedfactory AMD4 project to collaborate with local creatives by allowing them to make items that spoke to the designers and their cities. Now the project has focused on New York and Los Angeles in particular, giving four entities the chance to create a shoe.
Working with stylist Kwasi Kessie, famed NY brunch spot Sadelle’s, the Brooklyn Ballet and L.A. artist Aaron Kai, the first two models are by Kessie and Aaron Kai specifically. The adidas SPEEDFACTORY AM4AARONKAI is influenced by Kai’s time in Hawaii and L.A., where he discovered surf culture. The adidas SPEEDFACTORY AM4KWASI is inspired by Kwasi’s Harlem childhood. The shoes begin releasing on December 6, with wider release dates coming on December 8 at adidas’s webstore.
In other news, there’s an official look at A-COLD-WALL*’s Air Force 1 collab.
