Hanon & Diadora Celebrate '80s & '90s Football With "Pallone d'Oro" Sneaker
Releasing alongside the “Aberdeen” anorak.
Scottish sneaker retailer Hanon has linked up with Diadora for their latest collaboration, launched to celebrate the Italian label’s 70th anniversary. The capsule — featuring a co-branded anorak and the “Pallone d’Oro” sneaker — is inspired by football, with the soccer-influenced silhouette taking its name from the Ballon d’Or award.
The “Pallone d’Oro” is a nod to footballers who wore Diadora boots during the late 1980s and early ’90s before going on to win the prestigious award. The sneaker features the same upper as Diadora’s ’90s football boots — constructed from black Kangaroo leather and premium suede — which sits atop an indoor football outsole.
As well as the “Pallone d’Oro,” the capsule also features the “Aberdeen” anorak inspired by ’80s football fans. The half-zip pullover comes in a grey nylon shell, complete with pops of red on the collar and a kangaroo pocket. Other detailing includes a 3M adjustable draw cord and Hanon “Aberdeen” branding taken from the store’s collaboration with Diadora earlier this year. The full capsule will be available from Hanon’s Launches platform on December 1. Registration is open now.
