Stone Island Spotlights Man-Made Suede Textile in Video Lookbook
Showcasing another groundbreaking fabric.
After celebrating of a decade of the Shadow Project line, Italian label Stone Island has now released a video looking at another of its groundbreaking textiles. Known as man-made suede, the material is the first time that garment dyeing has been used to create a fabric that resembles suede.
The textile is created through an industrial process that is applied to a non-woven, nylon microfiber and polyurethane resins. This is then coagulated, resin-coated and washed. The short video from Stone Island particularly focuses on the man-made suede parka, which comes in a mustard colorway with large Stone Island branding on the hood and the classic compass emblem on the sleeve. The man-made suede parka is currently available from the Stone Island preview app, but head to the Stone Island web store for more information.
