Paul Newman's Championship 1979 Datsun 280ZX Race Car Is Up for Auction
A piece of American motorsport history.
Iconic actor Paul Newman was not only a star on the silver screen but also a championship-winning driver on the race track. In 1979, Newman won the SCCA C Production National Championship in this Datsun 280ZX race car, which is now up for auction.
This chassis number 100026 Z-car features Newman’s signature red, white and blue palette, bearing race number 33 and a coat of period-correct sponsorship stickers. The ’79 model has undergone a show-standard restoration and comes with Gotti racing wheels, a slew of original spare parts, additional body parts and memorabilia that make it an exceptional piece of American motorsport history.
