SUGAWARADAISUKE Architects Latest Project Shows 3 Different Stages of Design
Demolition with creation.

SUGAWARADAISUKE Architects has undertaken a renovation project called “Nishiki-cho Bunkaisan” that seeks to incorporate a creative center with a food museum, restaurant, farm, business incubation office and residence for creative people of the Nishiki-cho area.
The design is devised to generate opportunities and a hub for creativity. The existing building will be torn down in ten years to make way for renovation design that looks to add three different architectural elements, lending itself towards the project name, which roughly translates to “demolition×creation” in Japanese. The design keeps creators in mind, leaving room for them to adopt the space for unpredictable demands in the future.
