Nike’s signature Cortez model has enjoyed a busy few weeks, thanks largely to Kendrick Lamar’s new slip-on model and COMME des GARÇONS’s exaggeratedly-tall platform rework. A new premium iteration of the lifestyle classic will be arriving stateside soon — one that calls for a rather simplistic black and white color scheme, although explores other such avenues to stand apart.
With that in mind, Nike carries forth its extensive branding campaign, swarming the tonal kicks with a bevy of Swooshes in varying sizes. Used to brighten up the black leather base is an assortment of check symbols hitting the toe, in addition to both the lateral & medial sides. In addition, three Swoosh symbols appear on the heel with an entire row emblazoned on the insole footbed. This new Cortez Premium is available now through Nike UK for a price of £80 GBP (approximately $104 USD) and is expected to hit the U.S. market later this fall.
