Louis Vuitton Heads to the Alps With New Capsule
Adorned with patches referencing the region’s landscape.
After launching its Virgil Abloh-designed Spring/Summer 2019 collection at a pop-up recently, Louis Vuitton has now revealed its “Damier Graphite Alpes” capsule. The new release includes leather goods, accessories and ready-to-wear pieces in both plain designs and covered in patches.
The patches are based on the historical use of patches as souvenirs, which dates back to the 19th century and the time that Louis Vuitton first designed trunks covered in hotel stickers. The patches throughout the collection reference the mountainous landscape of the Alps, which appears on embroidered, embossed leather and tufted patches.
This theme features on everything from sneakers and boots to suitcases and even sleeping bags and keyrings. As well as the items with patches, the capsule also includes sleek tonal black monogramed items and simple apparel pieces. Take a look at all the pieces from the “Damier Graphite Alpes” capsule above, and head over to the Louis Vuitton web store to pick up items from the collection.
