Shanghai's FLY Links Up With Nike SB on the Janoski "Wake Up Go Skate"
Sneakers that make you get out of bed.
Shanghai’s longest-running skateboard shop FLY has joined forces with Nike SB for the sixth time to create a Janoski model, this time, bearing the message: “Wake Up Go Skate.” Store founder Jeff Han designed The FLY x Nike SB Janoski “Wake Up Go Skate” as a response to the new generation of skaters being “too chill” and never waking up for practice, thus coming up with the slogan as an encouraging reminder.
The design itself features a white leather upper with orange accents at the Swoosh, inner lining and a intricate tongue branding patch — a clean color scheme that nods to FLY cafe’s coffee cups, which boast an orange lid and a white paper cup. The heel counter is printed with a graphic of a bench, referencing the iconic chairs placed in front of the FLY store, and the insoles are marked with the Chinese pronunciation of FLY. Completing the design are icy translucent outsoles that reveal “FLY” in orange type.
The FLY x Nike SB Janoski “Wake Up Go Skate” will release on October 27 in Shanghai via Nike’s SNKRS STASH, and then for a second wave on October 28 exclusively in China Nike retailers.
