Valiant Comics Has Been Acquired By Entertainment Company DMG
Another cinematic universe in the works.

Valiant Entertainment, the publisher of acclaimed titles such as Bloodshot, Harbinger and Faith, has been fully acquired by DMG Entertainment. The entertainment company, known for its co-production in Looper and Iron Man 3, already held 57 percent of Valiant but as the publisher moves to claim a foothold in the cinematic world, DMG has acquired Valiant with plans for live-adaptations. Bloodshot and Harbinger, in particular, have been poised to set the foundation of future Valiant films, with the two envisioned to be involved in a five-film-shared cinematic universe.
In 2005, a group led by Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari gained the rights to Valiant’s catalog and relaunched the fictional universe in 2012 under the revamped company name Valiant Entertainment. As the deal with DMG has confirmed, both men will transition out of the company but remain involved as consultants moving forward. DMG CEO Dan Mintz has stated: “I’m also looking forward to bringing the writers close to the filmmaking process, which is something that is also important, and not keeping them siloed into the comic book area.”
In other comic book adaptation news, Netflix is looking to get into the superhero game as well, as the company recently purchased Mark Millar’s Millarworld.
