Rick Owens and Birkenstock Announce Three-Shoe Collaboration
Coming in longhair cow fur, felt and full-grain leather.

With the announcement back in 2017 that the designer’s collaboration with adidas would soon be coming to an end, it now seems that the early days of 2018 have Rick Owens partnered up with yet another big name footwear brand.
Slightly more left field than his work with the sportswear brand, however, this year’s linkup sees the Paris-based designer turning his hand to the ever divisive Birkenstock, putting a notably Rick Owens spin on three classic silhouettes, with collaborative versions feature longhair cow fur, felt and full-grain leather constructions.
The collaboration comes as part of Birkenstock’s traveling pop-up space — set to be parked outside of Rick Owens’s La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, store on March 16 and also due to carry ready-to-wear, accessories and furniture — with Oliver Reichert, Chief Executive of the German footwear brand, explaining that working with “Just a fashion designer would be less relevant,” where this collaboration is fitting because, ”Rick Owens, however, is different. We collaborated in architecture, design and fashion.”
The collaborative Rick Owens and Birkenstock styles will be available April 2018. Meanwhile, in other Rick Owens news, take a look inside the retrospective exhibition currently running in Milan.
