PUMA x FUBU Bring the ‘90s Back With Spring/Summer 2018 Lookbook
“For Us By Us.”
As part of the Suede‘s 50th anniversary, PUMA has teamed up with OG brand FUBU for a special collection. The collaboration feels right at home with FUBU, as the brand gained its stardom in the streets during the ’90s, and was synonymous with New York hip-hop (we can still picture LL Cool J donned head-to-toe reciting the “For Us By US” mantra). As Daymond John, FUBU co-founder commented, “We wanted to do something that we loved. We were loving the world of hip-hop but we couldn’t dance or produce or make money rapping but we started to realize that there are other ways to be part of the culture.”
In this collection, there is no denying that both brands went back to their roots, as we see a number of fits that come straight from the early ’90s. The collection is comprised of the T7 Track Suit, which features 7cm red stripes over black velour, a PUMA x FUBU T-Shirt with a large rubberized appliqué logo on the chest, and the Classic Suede, a mainly all-black silhouette that’s punctured by gold and red accents. The collaborative capsule will be up for grabs through PUMA’s online shop come January 26.
