Jenny Holzer Is Bringing Her Text-Based Art to a British PalaceThe Virgil Abloh collaborator takes over the famous Blenheim Palace.
After working with Virgil Abloh for Off-White™’s Pitti Uomo show earlier this year, American artist Jenny Holzer has announced a new exhibition at the UK’s famous Blenheim Palace. The show is set to feature her famous text-based art, with stonework, light projections, LED light installations and even a virtual reality mobile app that has been specially developed.
The exhibition is influenced by its location’s military history — both as the birthplace of Winston Churchill and its role as a reward for military victories in the 18th century — with conflict being a common feature of Holzer’s work since 2010. The text for the artworks comes from The Not Forgotten Association, a charity that supports ex-soldiers. The exhibition is set to run from September 28 until December 31, with a series of free evening light installations from September 28 until October 10.
