Carhartt WIP and Slam Jam Reunite for a Utilitarian Uniform Collection

Even though the two brands have worked together for decades, 2015’s collaboration between Carhartt WIP and Italian retailer and brand Slam Jam was their first joint collection. The two imprints have now reunited for another capsule, this time taking inspiration from 1960’s gas stations and their workers and mixing vintage utilitarian uniforms with Slam Jam’s contemporary design aesthetic.
For the collection, Slam Jam took a selection of staple pieces from Carhartt WIP’s archive, before creating a seven piece poly-cotton collection that references the hard-wearing uniforms of the 1960s gas station attendants. These pieces are all available in black and blue, and then finished with tonal patches that are influenced by various petrol companies’ logos. The collection is set to drop at Slam Jam’s Milan location on September 22, before dropping at select stockists the following day.
As well as collaborating with Carhartt WIP, Slam Jam has recently unveiled a link up with Japan’s United Arrows as part of the adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange.
