Instagram Is Using Kanye West Lyrics to Test Its New Moderation AI
Specifically the infamous verses from “Famous.”

Instagram is testing out its newest feature, a program called DeepText, that is able to recognize offensive language. In order to guarantee the anti-bullying program’s effectiveness, the social media outlet has been using Kanye West lyrics and seeing if they are filtered out. According to WIRED, the program has been able to filter out some of the more obvious insults in Kanye’s lyrics, including the now infamous verse in ”Famous,” while other, more subtle, potential insults have been able to slip past the program’s sensors with ease.
Kanye has been at the forefront of some of Instagram’s previous anti-bullying attempts, with Kim Kardashian‘s snake emoji comment leading to Yeezy fans flooding Taylor Swift‘s Instagram posts with snake emojis. This, in turn, led to the image sharing site introducing an emoji filter.
In other Kanye news, the rapper’s The Life of Pablo merch, designed by Cali Thornhill DeWitt, has recently been nominated for the “World’s Best Design” award.
