An unlikely bond flourishes.
Guillermo del Toro‘s The Shape of Water sees the daily struggles of a mute government laboratory worker, Elisa. During her time laboring at the high-security facility, she stumbles upon a classified experiment that would end up changing her life — she strikes an odd friendship with an unknown sea creature being help captive for tests and experiments by the doctors of the lab. As their bond grows, Elisa soon realizes the dangers of their environment and both must eventually fight for their escape.
