Nike Unveils an Indigo-Dyed Version of the LunarEpic Flyknit
The Swoosh is introducing more hand-dyed Flyknits.

One of the many pluses of using a knit construction like Nike‘s Flyknit is that the materials lend themselves perfectly to hand-dyed finishes. Case in point: 2016’s coveted “Indigo” rendition of the Flyknit Racer. Uber limited at just 100 production models, the gorgeous kicks — created in the run-up to 2020’s Olympic Games in Tokyo — offered a rich hand-dyed blue finish as an homage to the heritage of Japanese production. They even went to far as to sport Katakana “Nike” script on the tongue.
Thankfully, the Swoosh is revisiting the idea behind the release, returning with a corresponding version of the LunarEpic Flyknit for 2017. Like its Racer predecessor, the cushy design is highlighted by a hand-dyed indigo upper, this time applying the Katakana “Nike” branding to the grey Lunarlon sole unit.
Best of all, though? These will be a little easier to get your hands on: the LunarEpic Flyknit “Indigo” is set to hit select NSW spots and nike.com on July 1.
