Following up its first collaboration with Napapijri, Martine Rose shifts her focus from the East to the West of the country, primarily focusing on the youth and music scene of downtown LA of the ’90s in the brand’s 2018 spring/summer lookbook.
Continuing her use of Napapijri heritage pieces, Martine expands on the Rainforest jacket; a hooded, over the head windbreaker with a distinctive silhouette, boxed logo and chest pocket, designed to complement an active lifestyle. Invisible pockets are also added to oversized anoraks, which forces the wearer into postures presented in scenes photographed she observed throughout her research for the collection. The collection also presents overalls, oversized stripe polo-shirts and heavily branded sweats in bright primary colors, with contrast stitching and trims.
The Bering Bag, the first product created and produced by Napapijri, has also been reimagined here. Martine kept the silhouette of the Bering Bag whilst using waxed cotton waxed cotton and a Napa by Martine Rose logo embellishment.
